Our lives are woven together for a reason, each a vital thread in the Aroostook House of Comfort tapestry. Hopefully, our collective experiences will make someone else’s journey easier.

The members of Aroostook Hospice Foundation (AHF) Board are volunteers charged with oversight of the Aroostook House of Comfort. Their primary responsibilities include property management, volunteer and medical staff support, grant writing, and organizing local fundraisers. Their efforts and the support of volunteers, partnerships with the local community, and the generosity of donors have made it possible to successfully offer hospice and respite care services in Aroostook County.

“Each life is a miracle that changes the world and leaves it a better place than it was before.” Bill and Peggy passed while serving on the board of directors. Their love and compassion for family, friends and community was their inspiration for helping to bring a hospice house to Aroostook County.

What People Say About Us

I have seen the compassionate care patient receive here. There is nothing but praise and gratitude from families that we now have this home atmosphere to treat all levels of patient suffering. The relief and stress are gone; families can relax and be there to support their loved one.

Nancy T. O’Neill, MD, FAAFP

The nurses, doctor, and volunteers treated us with the way you would want to be treated and our loved one was treated with gentle care and loving attention.  The facility was so well planned, giving families room to spend with a loved one, and spaces for a few minutes of quiet time. We are so thankful for the experience.
