Hold a hand, listen to stories of a life well lived, and provide respite for family caregivers supporting a loved one at the end of life. There is a great need for people to join our volunteer team.

Are you a kind, caring, and enjoy making connections? Are you looking to make a meaningful difference in your community? Do you have a sincere desire to help others? This just might be the perfect fit!

There are many roles for volunteers through Northern Light Home Care & Hospice:

  • Become a family and patient volunteer to make in-home visits.
  • Be a soothing presence, greeting visitors at the Aroostook House of Comfort and supporting in-house patients.
  • Make bereavement calls to families of loved ones who have passed.
  • Donate your time through office work.
  • Sit vigil with a patient in their final hours, providing them with safety and reassurance.

Through our comprehensive training and support, we'll collaborate to make your volunteer experience both positive and rewarding while also providing compassionate care to our patients and their families.

Enrollment is now open for Fall 2025 training. This no-cost program will be delivered in a hybrid format, combining online and in-person sessions.
