  • The 13th Annual Aroostook River Fun Run is May 21st with proceeds divided between the Aroostook Veterans Alliance and the Aroostook House of Comfort. This year’s event is being dedicated to Janet Durgin, who was a founding leader of both organizations.

  • Since 2014, 1,200+ blankets have been created and donated throughout the County. Recipients include the Aroostook House of Comfort, Hope and Justice Project, the Homeless Shelter, Maine Veterans' Home, Caribou Fire and Ambulance, Cary Cancer Care Clinic, Bread of Life Soup Kitchen, Life by Design, The Farm of Hope, and DHHS.


  • Hospice volunteers go through a seven-week training provided by Northern Lights Home Care & Hospice. NLHCH recently redeveloped a slightly different take on “in-person” training to meet CDC guidelines during the pandemic, allowing applicants to train via Zoom. Despite Covid-19, caring and compassionate people participated in new hospice volunteer training.
